Spend the day at Australia Zoo

An easy 20 km drive through Landsborough brings you to Steve Irwin’s world famous Zoo.

It was started by Steve’s father Bob, and built on the international reputation and antics of The Crocodile Hunter.

Today the sprawling 110 acres accessible to visitors offers much more than the daily Croc shows in the Crocoseum.

Mary Cairncross Park

You will find this gem sitting on the ridge overlooking the spectacular Glasshouse Mountains. The view alone is worth the trip, especially on a clear day when both Brisbane and Gold Coast are clearly visible.

Featuring a playground and interactive wildlife exhibits for the kids, the beautiful Mountain View café, and two tranquil rainforest walks.

Gardners Falls

Just outside of the Caloundra township, Gardners Falls is the closest of the waterfalls around Caloundra.

From the Car park, it’s just a 300 meter stroll along the Obi Obi creek to reach the falls.

Surrounded by native forests, and grassy banks the picnic facilities make this a popular location for locals and visitors.

Lake Baroon

Is located between Caloundra and Montville and is a major part of the local water catchment.

From the Caloundra side, it is a scenic 10km drive through North Caloundra to reach the Picnic area.
